I truly believe that Marianna has been my saviour and I will be forever grateful for her expertise and compassion. I had breast implants 20 years ago, and was told at the time that they were 'lifetime devices'. Until one year ago I had not heard of BII, and I had no idea why I had so many health issues at such a young age, including cancer, infertility, fatty liver disease, kidney stones, leg pain, diverticula disease, endometriosis, high resting heart rate and many other factors. The toxins inside were overloading my body and in the last two years, it had escalated to being unmanageable. I was desperate for help. If you recognise yourself, please search for the many Facebook groups of women who are all going through the same thing and can support you. There are hundreds of thousands of women in the same situation. The 'Gold Standard' for explant is en bloc surgery - this is where the capsule that surrounds the implant is removed intact, meaning that any badness inside cannot spill into your body. If that is not possible, then you would have a full capsulectomy. In this case, all of the capsule is removed, along with the implant, but not intact. The full capsule MUST be removed as it is now confirmed that leaving the capsule in can cause a different man-made cancer. (BIA-ALCL, and BIA-SCC are the cancers associated with implants). I spoke with around 10 surgeons prior to finding Marianna. Most of them were dismissive of BII. The day that I met Marianna I just felt that I had found my surgeon. I had to have various tests as I had a cluster of calcifications and a cyst, all of which was tested prior to surgery and the cyst aspirated. The before and after care from Marianna was exceptional. She was available for questions, advice, and guidance throughout. As one of my implants had fused to my muscle, during surgery one side was conducted full capsulectomy and the other en bloc. The expected two-hour surgery turned into a 5.5 hour surgery. I am utterly thrilled with my results. Once my scars have faded, you will not even be able to tell that I've had surgery as she performed a 'lollipop' lift. I am now 11 weeks post-op and the results far exceed what I had expected. I am also thankful that so many of my symptoms have hugely improved and continue to do so. For those who are overseas, Marianna has said she is happy to do video consultations.
